THE MARTINCIGH FAMILY

With determination and simplicity

With determination and simplicity, the Martincigh family, owners of the Grappolo d'Oro winery, has run their business in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli since 1974.

The estate's vineyards extend across the Colli di Spessa, one of the most suitable areas for growing grapes in the entire "Friuli Colli Orientali" DOC area.

The vineyards, 60% of which are terraced on hillsides, enjoy an ideal south-southwest exposure. The Julian Alps to the north provide natural protection from cold winds, while the frequent presence of easterly winds and the proximity to the sea allow for a mild, breezy climate, ideal for optimal grape ripening and a remarkable accumulation of aromas on the grape skins.

At the winery, surrounded by the warm welcome of the Martincigh family, you can taste both traditional wines (Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, and the famous Picolit D.O.C.G.) and those introduced to Friuli in recent centuries and which express their highest quality in this region (Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer Aromatico, Merlot, Cabernet Franc).

The style of the wines fully reflects the land and the soul of the people who inhabit it, like the Martincighs: fresh, fruity, easy-drinking, balanced, rounded, and with a subtle minerality thanks to the calcareous soil. The environment, landscape, and climate are integrated with the culture and history of this family and this winery, offering visitors and wine lovers an authentic expression of a region devoted to genuine, time-honored food and wine.
