The origins
Grappolo d'Oro since 1974
The company was founded in 1974 by Ennio Martincigh, one of the current owners, who began his business out of pure passion. The land, however, has been cultivated since the days of Roman rule. For the first few years, the company focused primarily on livestock farming; wine production was marginal, serving only family needs. Gradually, thanks to the encouragement of the first customers who came to the company and word of mouth, demand for wine grew, so Ennio began planting vines on land that until then had been used for arable crops.
Since 1986, the company has dedicated itself exclusively to viticulture. Since the 1990s, the company has also benefited from the expert support of Ennio's two children, Donatella and Elvis, and subsequently their families. The company's approach, supported by the children's innovative viticultural and winemaking expertise, is driven by a constant pursuit of the highest quality obtainable from the grapes grown in the Spessa area, respecting the varietal expressions and the area's long winemaking tradition. Today, the company is a well-established business spanning 26 hectares of vineyards.
